I. Days 1-3: Palma de Mallorca.

Spend a weekend or overnight in Palma de Mallorca

Things to do

  1. Day 1: Explore the capital town. Shop. Visit the moorish palace and cathedral. Dinner
  2. Day 2: Visit one of the beach clubs surrounding the area.
    • Balneario Illetas– classic, laid-back beach club just outside Palma set on rocky terraces over turquoise water, known for swimming platforms, sunbeds inches from the sea, and unfussy Mediterranean food with a relaxed local feel.
    • UM Beach House Portals– chic, boho-luxury beach club in Portals Nous with Bali-style décor, a lively DJ atmosphere, pool and sea access, and a menu of global comfort food and cocktails that draws a fashionable, party-leaning crowd
    • Anima Beach Palma – closest to Palma. A sleek, modern beach club on the Paseo Marítimo with a sandy beachfront, white loungers, DJ-led daytime vibes, and a menu focused on Mediterranean seafood, sushi, and cocktails, popular for long sunny lunches that turn into sunset drinks
II. Days 4-7: Northwest: Rocky mountains with luxurious hotels and towns perched on cliffs.

Head outside of Palma. I’d recommend visiting the Northwest or Southwest areas. Northwest The surrounding area around Palma has a lot of large scale resorts, but they tend to be rowdy. Likewise though some love the eastern side of Mallorca, I’ve found it to resemble more of a Jersey Shore than a Balearic Island.

Option A: Northwest- Rocky mountains with luxurious hotels and towns perched on cliffs.

Stay around Valldemosa or Deia. Deia is on the pricier side, else the hotels are small and cramped. If you’re looking for a marquee moment, do try to stay in one of the hotels around that area for at least 1-2 days.

Belmond la Residencia

Sa Pedrissa– For a comparable view overlooking the cliffs of Mallorca.

Around Valldemossa

Ca’s Garriguer – a relaxed stay in a family run hotel near Valldemossa

Things to do:

  1. Visit Valldemossa and explore the beautiful hillside city.
  2. Boat day: Rent a boat from getmyboat.com or one of the many online options. Most boats sail from Port de Palma, which is just an hour’s drive back. Going northwest will take you to Cala des Mago and the Magaluf area, where there is a natural park. Park by one of the calas and enjoy lunch with a swim.
  3. Drive to Deia around sunset to see the breath-taking views. I’d recommend booking a dinner at Belmond La Residencia. El Olivo is iconic, candelit restaurant with olive trees and stone-walled fine dining overlooking the Tramuntana mountains. If it’s completely booked, try the Grill which offers premium meats, fresh fish, and simple Mediterranean sides in a garden overlooking the pool area.

Southwest: Country-side living with rolling hills, farms and beautiful beaches
